Karma's Og - Karma Genetics Pre-release

I am very excited to be growing out 6 Karma's OG beans. This will take a while from start to finish as I have some other Karma Genetics beans (24k White Gold and Sour Power Biker) going into the bloom tent very soon. I plan on growing these in promix until they are big enough to sex them and take cuttings. They will eventually be flowered in DWC and Ebb N Grow Buckets.

Today I started germinating the 6 beans using the paper towel and Tupperware method.

This is the info about the strain from the Karma Genetics Website. This will sum up the lineage for you all.


"Karma’s OG – The name kind of says it all. This my personal baby, bred without being influenced by outside opinions.

For the enthusiasts, here is the breakdown:


First we’ll start with the base building blocks:

OG#17 (female)(extinct) is a cut that I got from a close friend called Bear. He selected it from seeds and it made thicker orange type hairs and was on the more sour side of smell and flavour. Light green, some people smoked this at some 420 cup when the volcano boomed.

HA-OG (female) An older OG cut I got from the US in 2009, from the Orange County region, in Cali.

SFV OG Kush BX2 (male)(extinct) This male came from a first release of Cali Connection in their start up. It was a very nice male which made many good hybrids.

Steps 6-11
From the Bear OG, I have been doing selections for 2 years and been inbreeding it to an F4 at the moment. This was done with multiple selected females and males each round. (I listened to the old farts on this one!)

That is what’s called Karma’s OG (Bear OG f4)"

After 36 hours 6/6 seeds have sprouted. They will be put into party cups with promix HP.

We have life! All 6 Karma's OG's are now above soil.

Karma is a super cool breeder!! Always responds with the quickness to questions. He sent me old grandpa scratch, strawbanana cream, solos stash x biker ltd.

Just friendly info: the Karma's OG will be released very soon, by year's end. I would suggest anyone give these a try, but then again, I'm a big fan of Karma's work.

The babies are off to a slow start but they are finally kicking into gear, I put them under 1000w hps with some other veg plants to get them growing a little faster. They have doubled in size since being under hid for a couple days but are still small, but they have the first set of real leaves finally. They are being fed with organic Buddha Grow.

Figured out why the slow growth.. These seedlings grow roots extremely fast and got root bound in a party cup at 2". Will be transplanting into 1.75g pots tomorrow. I would suggest starting them in a 1 gallon pot instead of a party cup. I'm guessing they've been root bound for at least a week or more and I didn't catch the problem.

Hell of roots on those little girls. I will have to watch out for that.

Hey Dr. D, yeah definitely skip the solo cups! I should have transplanted weeks ago but they didn't look big enough, but they haven't grown in forever, so I got them transplanted in to big pots and they doubled in size in 2 days. It was definitely a root issue, they like the space to grow, at least a 3.5-5g pot for soil flowering will be needed imo.

Hey cannis, it's going, just a little rocky, I'm in the process of converting the veg room to hydro and have KOG clones in the cloner about to go into dwc. They took root but just watiing for the roots to get a little bigger for the transplant. Hoping things turn out good! Thanks for stopping in

Quick update: 2 of the kog survived the veg room conversion and have adapted well to the hydro. I'm hoping one will be female, really bummed I lost the others, but rthe 2 that are left will be cared for properly. They should start growing very vigorously now and I will update more often.

Looks good. I had been looking on the Bay, but the time difference and the drops...blah...This strain sounds amazing though, looks like the clones are doing well so keep on keeping on

It does sound like an amazing strain bro, I've been having trouble with dumb stuff happening in my root zone recently, but I think they will pull through. I have cloned one of the plants and am sexing it now, should know it's gender in a week or so. The one I haven't cloned or sexed yet I think is a fem, I just have a hunch. It's more squat than the other. Here's a pic of it.. Yeah I know she's rough right now but I think she's gonna pull through and be ready to clone and flower by February (fingers crossed). I'm hoping the veg starts picking up and moving faster since I think I have the problems under control.
