Hey all id like to start this thread inviting everyone and anyone with outdoor experince to plz feel free to post anything helpful. This is my first legal run outdoors. It feels amazing to be able to do what i love doing legally and hopefully to my strains full potential. If you have peeked into my indoor thread i just started you know im running my own hybrid ive been working on for the last few years White Grapes this will be the first year she goes outside and well see what shes really made of! So lets get down to it!

The enclosure is in the works i know im a few weeks behind but better late then never i also work 50+ hours a week and have little time to work after work its been late nights and long weekends haha. Basiclly i have my area cleared there is maybe 2 more trees that must come down and a few to be trimmed back, im tryn to save as many as possible to hug them..

The trees that have been cut are being used as the poles for the outside of the enclosure 20ft long burried 4-5ft into the ground and shell be wrapped in small gap cattle fencing 8 ft up with barbed wire at the top.

9 plants total this run just to get a feel for things and bc i didnt have a ton of money to put up this first year i think total with the fencing and rental equipt im at about 3500$ that doesnt include the irrigation and 5000gal rain tank.

Heres my list of nutes and supplies

9 - 200 gallon TAN (to help so soil doesnt cook on edges) custom made smart pots 16 inches tall 60 inches across not standard nor the squat.
5-5.5 yards of local 50/50 top soil/peat mix
15- 4cft bags large #4 perlite
50 - 25# bags of worm castings or 1200lbs (53lbs per cbft)
30 - 50# bags locally sourced chicken manure or 1500lbs (40# per cbft)
12 - 20# bags of bone meal
2 - 50# bags of kelp meal
3 - 35# bags of oyster shells
2 - 50# bags of gypsm
2 - 50# bags of lime

I priced all of this out thru the local warehouse grow shop and found that was redic expensive so went on the hunt and found most of what i needed locally from farms i will say in my area it was hard to find organic soil amendments but buying in bulk i got great deals on everything.. a ton of chicken manure was only 260$ and 60 bags of castings was $795 which i called the company direct but they decided after the fact not.to sell direct to me and i had to pay an extra 195$ thru their retailer to save face. Tho i only paid 95$ more on the pallet bc i knew how much they were getting it shipped for.

All of that broken down divided by 9 and will be mixed in the pot and let set for 4-5 weeks while it "cooks" basiclly throw in the pot mix it.really good and soak it 1 time really well and let it sit.

With this mix i should only have to water and top dress the plants with some extra high N castings and quano in veg and then high P quano in flowering but for the most part the soil mix should take care of the girls the entire 5-6 months.

I plan to cover the enclosure later in the season with poly to keep the rain off the plants mold is a problem in my area but as long as they are cover in the last few weeks there should be no problems.

Today i plan to get all the tree posts i need gathered up and the rest of the trees cut and trimmed the pots should be here monday along with the soil so i can get this rolling. Once the enclosure is up i can put the girls outside so im not that far behind money had held me back if i had the cash quicker the soil would already be good to go and i would have been planting this weekend or next depending on the weather

I'd go the way of 9x 200? gallon kiddie pools, they are cheaper and better at holding the weight over the coming months, with regard to the soils ...its always better to contract this out, its more expensive, but as you do have a life, of 50 hors work a week, this ain't gonna work out well, better to have cleared the location in winter, so you establish some cover/protect plants in early spring, with these delays and inexperience this is gonna cut into your costs come harvest day ...?
A building with a fixed green house is the popular way ...to start an op like this ...good luck

This is my first legal outdoor run and my first fully organic grow ever so well see how she runs heres one from a guerilla garden about 5 years ago theres still 2 videos on youtube too i think ill see if i cant dig those up and post them i watched them a year or two ago and god are they horridly made but cool none the less and at that time i barely knew anything compared to now haha

I get where your coming from for sure we had cleard all the trees earlier this year the ones i need to get done now are a few i left not knowing if theyd block my sun once it peaked higher in the sky. I live in the country and am a carpenter by trade i can pull my crew for a day to build the enclosure with guys i trust. I also will be cutting my hours per week way down to be able to be here more to take care of my girls we are @ a place now where medical marijuana may become federally "legal" amd my stae is going to have rec use on the ballot next year so i plan to do this professionally and my main goal is focused on breeding always has been. Im mainly behind due to money and @ 3500$ total cost i have no worries about making my money back even if the plants dont get huge. Like i said this is more of a test run than anything else. If everything goes smooth next year ill have the money upfront and will be building a 80x60+/-? green house w lighting fans the whole nine yards. So i can have my girls out in april to get a head start on our short season

I also have a 7600w indoor set up for the other months and to keep my pateints happy while i wait for my outdoor crop.

I do have plants vegging right now for the outdoor run they are all about 2ft x 2ft bushes besides 2 that are 3x3. I will agree im behind but im not worried in the slightest it more of a bumper crop than anything

Tho if i had it my way everything would have been built last year for this year and my soil would be already good to go and i would be planting this weekend

as a wood worker look to making your own plant containers, as many fail due to poor workmanship!

Yea i was going to xgo with gro pro pots they are cheaper but the stiching is much better i think they are thicker to same with geo pots but they were sold out across the us in tan color pots..i like smartys bc they air prune your roots and the plants dont get root bound to be completely honest i was going to just put them in the ground but our water table here is so high the plants would surely drown so i opt for above ground. And also i pretty much threw this together with the funds I had going to find out what does and doesnt work here for me and go that direction. With smaller smartys ive never had a problem but thats running 30-60 gallon containers i have a few that are 5 years old and have no problems ive even thrown them in the washing machine to get rid of the salts on the pot with no problem
kbgrowkid?
I dont belive i used that name ive been under a few here tho..klosetbreeder, kbmed$, but that one doesnt sound familiar i dont believe ive used that one it is possible tho haha

Dirt should be here in a day or two and the pots should have been here today but if course the grow shop never is on time atleast around here..have had nothing but problems with most of them not tailoring to larger scale..hence the reason i sourced 90% of supplies myself. Nothing is more annoying then walking in and being told i can order it..so can I..I came here so I didnt have to order it and get it now not in 4 days and waste gas twice.

1432418578449.jpg Dirts here finally ...pots came in yesterday..my buddys hydrolic lines on the tractor shit out so everything should be done tomorrow ill post pictures and everything then. Got 1 one tree to take down i was out all day watching the sun and so far i get first light and then lose it behind a few trees for about an hour around 10am then full sun until around 5 and then i have partial sun for the remainder of the day until i clear a tree most of the garden as is gets 75% of the full days worth of sun.

The picture is the NPK+C value on my chicken manure not bad..

Good looking mix man, expensive as hell to start, but then that's it. Feed the soil and it only gets better. I'm on my 2nd run with some of my soil, mostly no-till and still in same containers and the buds are bigger, denser and more potent or at least everybody thinks more potent. It sure seems like it, same pheno from clones and I'm still just plain watering mostly, with a sprouted seed tea a couple times.

At harvest I clipped the stalk at ground level, mulched a half inch layer of fresh homemade castings from my bins and mulched again with the shitty leaves not suitable for dry ice kief extraction and stalk material from the pIant I just harvested, then watered the shit out of it with an SST I made from some bush bean seed I have a ton of. Hell, barley or one of the others you read a lot about might be better, but like I said, I have a shitload of these seeds on site and my results have pleased me.

Anyway, I give it a few days then plant a clone to one side of pot original rootball, leaving it mostly undisturbed, digging out just enough to transplant, nothing more, and leaving whatever root pieces I cut off in the hole. I used dry, powdered mycohorriza (sp?) at first planting and the theory was it was now well established and ready to invade the new plant's roots and get at that fresh exude smorgasbord it has been without since harvest. It's supposed to take about the life of the first plant before the benefits of the mycos really get to cranking in a container and I believe it. Like I said, marked increase in growth, which is likely due to the heavy amending I did initially, with short "cook" time of only 30 days. I believe it took that entire first grow to get the amendments broken down fully and also by then the myco fungi should be well established, or that's what the results say.

Anyway, if you topdress with castings and mulch after first harvest, then water with a good SST a few times -- some say you should use an SST weekly for a no till, lazy man's way to dankness like no other -- your next run will outdo your first and then divide that initial monster cash outlay nearly in half. Of course, the payout from those 9 plants full of sticky, organic medicine will more than recoup the large investment. Still, it's just nice to only have that outlay once. I'll be paying attention man.

What do ya mean by SST? im new to organics been a hydro cash cropper for ever and did reg soil indoors as well.. as it sits im running 14 10gal and 4 30gal inside but chem nutes...outdoors i figured i better go back to nature..and thanks for the complements nice to hear im heading in the right direction.

I do llan to get worm bins in as well on a larger scale to produce my own castings buying a ton at a time is costly. My initial investment is about 2000$ on soil and nutrients which isnt bad and the rest is in the fencing a skidder pots auger all of which i wont need next year. Tho if things work out and everything is smooth the plan is to build a full greenhouse and double the plant numbers at the least.

Also my understanding is there is good life in the castings but should i buy a powder myco supplement? And if so which one? Im leaving my soil to "cook" for about 3-4 weeks so im assuming the break down should be pretty good at that point it is a hot mix and has produced monsters (10+lbs)....tho i know being behind and being new to organics Im not expecting that kind of yeild..but my last guerilla plants had pulled 3 per but i took care of those as well with chem ferts weekly

This thread from the organic section explains SSTs (seed sprout teas) much better than I. You are after the enzymes which are produced in abundance in seed sprouts.

Welp yet another day of rain on my days off of course ...got most the enclosure up yesterday i have about 30 feet of fence left to put up and maybe 10 2x4s and then i have to build the door and attach that. The rain should pass around noon so for now im working in my 4000w room and the outdoor plants..couple of shots of the indoor for some nug porn..these girls are about to start week 6 and im very impressed with green wizard nutrients. Theres only 2 bottles for veg and 5 altogether for flowering..very simple yet very effective. I always use bare minimum amounts of nutrients most of the additives now a days is either snake oil or somthing i dont want to consume indoor is my cash crop so organics is out of the question just due to time and for the fact i get better indoor yeilds with bio available nutes such as green wizard and would recomened them to anyone. Hard to find but worth every penny. Each plant has between 35-45 tops and 80% of them are good sized buds about 8-12 inches long and i cant get my hand around them. They also have 3 more solid weeks of growth and havent done any of the swelling yet this is gonna be one of those bumper runs where your amazed at the size of everything in the room my white grapes has the potential to produce a huge harvest it just needs a good grower tho its easy enough and not picky that a novice could also grow her and still come out with a great yeild of top shelf quality meds.1433087077313.jpg 1433086785121.jpg1433086925520.jpg white grapes before she purples out next 3 weeks the entire plant will change to almost having black leaves with dark and bright purple caylxes and a pure white sugar coat.

This my carolina reaper worlds hottest chili (until chocolate bhutlah is released i suggest everyone go on youtube and watch the LA beast eat one ouch!) First few flowers have opened and im pollinating them by hand to produce fruits. These girls are fully organic and live off EWC and EWC tea chicken manure and mother earth super tea only thing i still use from advanced nutrients..these are HOT!!! Im growing them as a novelty and for my broke friends who come at me for free meds they want a gram or two of shatter they have to eat a full pepper chew it up and cant have milk for 5 minutes..muahahaha..
