Hey all id like to start this thread inviting everyone and anyone with outdoor experince to plz feel free to post anything helpful. This is my first legal run outdoors. It feels amazing to be able to do what i love doing legally and hopefully to my strains full potential. If you have peeked into my indoor thread i just started you know im running my own hybrid ive been working on for the last few years White Grapes this will be the first year she goes outside and well see what shes really made of! So lets get down to it!
The enclosure is in the works i know im a few weeks behind but better late then never i also work 50+ hours a week and have little time to work after work its been late nights and long weekends haha. Basiclly i have my area cleared there is maybe 2 more trees that must come down and a few to be trimmed back, im tryn to save as many as possible to hug them..
The trees that have been cut are being used as the poles for the outside of the enclosure 20ft long burried 4-5ft into the ground and shell be wrapped in small gap cattle fencing 8 ft up with barbed wire at the top.
9 plants total this run just to get a feel for things and bc i didnt have a ton of money to put up this first year i think total with the fencing and rental equipt im at about 3500$ that doesnt include the irrigation and 5000gal rain tank.
Heres my list of nutes and supplies
9 - 200 gallon TAN (to help so soil doesnt cook on edges) custom made smart pots 16 inches tall 60 inches across not standard nor the squat.
5-5.5 yards of local 50/50 top soil/peat mix
15- 4cft bags large #4 perlite
50 - 25# bags of worm castings or 1200lbs (53lbs per cbft)
30 - 50# bags locally sourced chicken manure or 1500lbs (40# per cbft)
12 - 20# bags of bone meal
2 - 50# bags of kelp meal
3 - 35# bags of oyster shells
2 - 50# bags of gypsm
2 - 50# bags of lime
I priced all of this out thru the local warehouse grow shop and found that was redic expensive so went on the hunt and found most of what i needed locally from farms i will say in my area it was hard to find organic soil amendments but buying in bulk i got great deals on everything.. a ton of chicken manure was only 260$ and 60 bags of castings was $795 which i called the company direct but they decided after the fact not.to sell direct to me and i had to pay an extra 195$ thru their retailer to save face. Tho i only paid 95$ more on the pallet bc i knew how much they were getting it shipped for.
All of that broken down divided by 9 and will be mixed in the pot and let set for 4-5 weeks while it "cooks" basiclly throw in the pot mix it.really good and soak it 1 time really well and let it sit.
With this mix i should only have to water and top dress the plants with some extra high N castings and quano in veg and then high P quano in flowering but for the most part the soil mix should take care of the girls the entire 5-6 months.
I plan to cover the enclosure later in the season with poly to keep the rain off the plants mold is a problem in my area but as long as they are cover in the last few weeks there should be no problems.
