Keep going or Start over? (Day #30 flower)

Soil: FFOF + Dry Ammendments

Problem: Watered in too much Fish & Kelp liquid fert. 1tbsp/gal once per week = not a good idea. Now almost all the fan leafs are gone.

It's day #30 flower. Will it even survive another 30 days, or the buds swell up with almost no fan leaves left?

If you're a doctor, what's the prognosis?

Well I poured through my notes & the plant was 100% green/healthy until 3 days after my first Fish/Kelp feeding. After each successive feeding it got worse. Finally I stopped for a week, the leaf fading/death slowed down, then I resumed fish/kelp & it came raging back. Either way I surely appreciate everyone's tips & advice!

Possibly the fish/kelp dropped your ph pretty low. Were you checking ph?

My tap water is 8.5 to 9. After adding 1tbsp of GS Plant's Fish & Kelp it shows as 6.5 on the GH ph droplet kit. It's definitely possible the first time or 2 I used it along with ph down it was closer to 4-5. I adjusted in later waterings though & pinned it at 6.5. I guess it could still be too low from those waterings a month ago?

Have you tested your runoff ph?

Yeah. You have to test the runoff to know what the plant is saying. Knowing how many PPM you are feeding vs the PPM of the runoff coming out tells you if you are giving it too much. Should be under 900 -1000 PPM during flower for nutes and feed only after runoff PPM drops from waterings. You do the same with pH which looks like you already know the range.

On a side note, you pH balance the nutrients after it is all mixed up. And flower nutes are stored acidic so when there is a buildup in the soil it makes it acidic.

I missed this post last week, just curious if you decided to keep this plant going Duke? I'm leaning towards acidity being the problem. I had a similar problem pop up once when trying to use fish hydrolysate indoors. Outdoors it's great because the soil is so vast and full of minerals that buffers the acidity, but indoor media is totally different, even indoor "soil."

Yes it's still going, I've had to tie up all the branches, started turning over & they don't look "that heavy". So I bet it's on its last leg. I think you're right about the acidity.

I'm just giving it 8.0-8.5ph tap water as of yesterday, hope that slows down death. Probably a short time before the sugar leaves die at this point, fingers crossed I get 2 more weeks!
