Hey so I'm leaving on vacation for ten days and my plants are really starting to suck up some water so I was wondering how I could keep the aerogarden full when I'm away.
I was thinking if I got a reservoir and put it higher than the ag tank and ran a tube from the extra reservoir into the ag tank that may keep it full

You've got the right idea! Now you just need the equipment. Here's how I've done this in the past...
- 5 gallon reservoir (your size needs may vary) placed above the level of the sump (or AG tank as in your case)
- 1/8" rigid airline tubing long enough to run from the bottom of the reservoir to above the water level in the reservoir
- flexible 1/8" aquarium tubing (connected to the rigid airline tubing) which terminates in your sump/AG
- one inline adjustable 1/8" valve
You can find everything you need at any aquarium store. The trick is figuring out how many drips-per-second you need for your feeding needs. I was running one drip per second, but your needs may differ drastically.
Basically, get the reservoir up high, hook up the tubing, make sure your reservoir is big enough, connect the tubing, suck on the tubing to start the syphon, adjust your drip rate on the valve, go on vacation, and have fun!
