Keeping nutrients mixed

I’m getting ready to make the switch to flower in the next couple of weeks and was wondering: how does everyone keep their reservoirs mixed for automatic feeding?

FWIW: I’m using a drip system

I keep mine mixed by feeding every day...when the pump starts up, my feed solution is agitated and therefore it gets mixed daily. It doesn't need to be any more complicated than that. Good luck.

I have never heard of dissolved nutrients becoming separated or unmixed. I certainly made no provision to agitate a ready nutrient solution, excepting the unneeded agitation from bubblers for oxygenation.

I work weird hours and some days I’m not home at feeding time so trying to automate as much as I can.

my nutes do settle. I would imagine any mixture will get some settling and/or separation over time as even liquid nutrients would have varying molecular weights.

This is more than compensated by the two phenomena of diffusion and convection. What nutes do you use that they settle, and do you get stratification of TDS?

how big is this reservoir?
It's just an 18 gallon tote. I never fill it to more than 15 pounds. It's used for a gravity feed blumat watering system. I don't use the pump to prevent the nutes from settling. What I use doesn't settle. I use it to keep the solution moving around and aerated. A small pump like that is much better at oxygenating the solution than an airstone due to the exchange at the surface from the swirling water. If you want to automate your watering you should check out blumats. All you have to do is keep the reservoir filled and the blumats take care of the rest. Just top it off every couple of days.
