Which soil is better for use as a base for the Supersoil recipe, Kellogg Patio Plus or Promix?

I'm using Kellogg’s PP in my Super Soil mix; I've used it as a base soil too and it works okay. When I’ve used it solely as a base soil, my plants would get defiant within a few weeks or so, I suspect it's really light on amendments. I’ve never used pro-mix and I’ve never read anything negative about it

Sub recommends that you do not use a soilless mix because it won't have enough juice to make it through the whole grow. I'd go with one of the ones that Sub suggests he notes his insights on the different types of base soils in his SS recipe post. If you do not have access to a Roots Organic, Happy Frog, etc. then I would go with Kellogg, but if you do, I'd just stick with what's suggested.
