kept a hermie, is that bad?

Had 4 NL's going and one bag seed. 2 days ago got rid of one male.
Today got rid of two more males (included the bag seed)
Kept one female and one hermie. Is that bad? Aren't feminized seeds from hermies? And what happens to the female if she gets pollinated by the hermie? Will she breed more hermie seed?
Any advantages or disadvantages opinions or suggestions you guys would like to share?

If you leave the hermie both plants will become seeded, and your seeds will be more likely to turn hermie.

True- a feminized seed comes from a female mother and a female "father" that has been induced to hermie. The breeders will generally use the natural method to induce hermies, and they will do this towards the end of flower so they know it is a "stabilized" hermie trait. If your hermie showed up before the end of flowering, you will have seeds that are more likely to go hermie. One thing you might want to look into is Dutch Masters Reverse. It is a hormone treatment, so it will only kill the male flowers and will let the buds reah full maturity without producing seeds. If the hermie flowers have already popped, it will stop further seed development but the earlier you put it on, the better.

If you want a bunch of feminized seeds, keep the hermie.

A hermie will produce hermie offspring. Purposely making a plant hermie late in flowering is totally different than a plant that shows pistols and pollen sacks at day 10 of flower. Chuck that hermie or get in there everyday and pull off the male bits.

Toss it. True, pure, ladies only in a seedless desired environment. Dont waste the space, chuck the herm now, give the room and lighting to your REAL lady in green. Hermies are unpredictable. Also, arent feminized seeds created by exposing a seed to some compound? I thought it had something to do with chemically supressing the male hormone within the seed. Not so sure Im buying quality female seeds from a plant that was seeded by a plant mistreated at just the right time. Anyone care to clear this up for me a tad? Sry bout the thread hi-jack. There are several ways to produce a feminized seed. I believe most breeders use the Colloidal Silver method which is just treating a budsite with a colloidal silver solution, which, in turn, causes an ethylene change in the area, causing the female to grow male sex organs at that site; male sex organs that produce pollen with the same genetic donor as the female organs. Resulting in a seed with only female genes.

Awesome, that sounds about right, with the silver and all. One thing I do know is that however the premium houses are doing it, its almost 100% success on my end . thanks for the info

He is right. Late in flower when it happens you can pluck the bananas out with tweezers. Showing male parts this early if kept will be disastrous. Sounds like you are down to one plant. Baby her and hopefully she will produce a good yield for you. I will pray to the Rasta Gods.

And switch to Advanced Nutrients as soon as possible. Just kidding Homebrewer.
