Kief + parchment paper + hot iron = ???

Okay, I got a few grams of kief from my harvest bin screen gizmo and I saw a couple videos on YouTube that claim you can put it between layers of parchment paper and then press it with a hot clothing iron to melt it into dabbing material. But I tried that and all I got was the same powder I started out with.

I had the iron set on the temperature for wool, which is about halfway to the top setting for cotton. I only pressed for maybe 5-10 minutes before I had to stop because the smell seemed to be making me ill.

Anybody use this method?

No, that sounds like a ghetto method for making rosin. I've heard of using a hair curling iron but not a clothing iron. You need heat and PRESSURE. I have taken two flat pieces of metal, heated them up in my oven to about 250 degrees, taken them out, sandwich the parchment paper between the two plates and then put the whole thing into my bench vice and crank it shut as tight as I can, wait a minute or so and then take it out. It actually worked quite well. Since then, I have punched a set of Low Temp Plates and a pneumatic press to get the real-deal yields. But, yeah, you need to have that pressure along with the heat.
