kWH 1000w

I'm no electrician but at $.10 a kWH how much would it cost me to run a 1000w light 18 hours a day.
if there is a good thread please link.

10 cents is what you pay for 1 Kilowatt hour. If you have a 1000w light on for 1 hour, thats 1 kw/h which = .10

Times that by 18 and you get $1.80

Why do you need to be an electrician for simple math? It will probably be slightly higher as most 1k lights will pull about 1040 from the wall or so.

I just pay the damn bill never knew how it worked

plus fans, etc. you can get a device called a 'watts up' that plugs in between the wall and your geat that can tell you how much wattage youre pulling. a full 1000W HPS setup is prob closer to 1200-1500 with vent fans, circ fans, pumps, res heaters etc etc.
