Ever use it? How good does it work? Anybody using pics? Post away I'm curious this is the cheapest form of plant lighting i have found.

A single 26w CFL would be producing much more PUR(plant usuable radiation/light)

When people refer to LEDs as 'christmas lights' I'd imagine it's something like this.

The cheapest form of plant lighting would be some cfl's. Seriously you'll probably only spend 40 bucks all together. Now if you use those led lights that are on the new audi a4 you might have some bomb ass bud cuz those shits are right son.

Don't waste your money. Those 225 LED boards don't even provide enough light to grow seedlings from (they stretched out a whole batch of my seedlings so far the plants collapsed and died).
CFLs are what you want to go for, cheaper, better, and easier to adjust. You would need to shell out hundreds of dollars for an LED system that worked, when you could buy 4 CFLs and a 150W HPS and get great results for much less.

I've been labouring for days trying to source parts to make a realistically priced LED light system
