Has anyone ever used this plant?
Some years back I read about it's analgesic properties but never tried it because of all the zero effects people got from it.
So the other day I was at my moms helping her out and seen that her yard was full of wild lettuce. So I decided to pull a bunch up and even dug up two 6' footers and plant them in my yard. (The plant in the pic above) ..
I froze the plants I pulled and then later I blended them up in my magic bullet and steeped if for awhile then filtered it and evaporated down to paste.. That night I used a half gram ball and desolved it into a cup of my homebrewed blueberry wine. With in 20 minutes I could feel my arms and legs and head felt heavy and it gave me a nice calm relaxed feel. No euphoria however.. And I wouldn't compair it to opium in effect but it did help subside my back pain and nerve pain.. I was quite surprised really..
I would love to hear others stories regarding this plant and how it was prepared ..

I'm kind of getting in to the permaculture thing and I'll be adding several beneficial plants to my gardens and yard..

I have both grew and used it wild and cultivated.

Any effects i got were border line placebo, thats not to say their could not be some type of anti-inflammatory or antibiotic going on.

From my reading some mention the presence of tropane alkaloids in fresh resin which is kind of interesting

Yeah the tropane is up for debate from what I've been reading, but is possible seeing one man died from over consuming this plant.. The effect I've felt was very very subtle, feels like melatonin to me. Lol. But I did notice abit of painrelif (manly nerve) which I'm assuming is because of the action caused on the gaba rather then the Mu, delta, and kappa receptors.
Lots of people say its placebo and a lot say there is in deed affects( I agree) but one could never say truthfully it's similar to opiates, not even close. From my understanding it is an enzyme blocker(forgot the name of the enzyme) which it improves the activeness of opiates which I'm all for if it's true.. The only time I've taken the lactuca was two hours before bed and not with any opiate so I'm not sure on this yet.
I've taken only a half gram ball twice now and both times I felt it but like I said it felt like melatonin to me and nothing like opium lol.
How did you consume it @ROOSTERMAN, sublingule <-- spelled wrong I'm sure lol, Or vape ?
