Last advice thread before I go and grow

Got some good advice last night, some good dudes on here.
Decided to go with this system, but use soil for the first few grows

Gonna use the paper towel method for germination

Any advice on nutes I should use and how often to use them?

I hear fox farms makes some of the best or canna. I go hydro n haven't done soil in 10 years. One thing I hate when old heads hop on here and tell nubes to go soil because its more forgiving with there first grow. I grew one time in soil and it sucked. Everyone was like don't do hydro dude, to hard. No its not, it depends on the person. If u liked science in high school or as a child then hydro would be the way to go. Yeah it can be exacting but there is nothing better than being able to dial in ur plants, also not carting in a shitload of dirt in the middle of the night keeps the paranoia to a decent level also. Sorry bout my rambling dude yea there are people who swear by those two. Don't get into all the other bullshit with the magic liquids n shit just good old n-p-k. U will do just fine

Add perlite to the soil 25% and a tbsp of dolomite lime per gallon of soil. Make sure the pot has good drainage. Start the seeds in a starter soil like jiffy or light warrior. Soil vs hydro is more of a personal choice and has endless debates. I've seen great grows and bad ones in both. I bet your gonna want more light .

Thats great! pH and ppm are big in hydro(soil too actually but many wing it) and res temps. Your gonna have fun.

I got a question about the seed started...
I started tga beans in their and it never really drained well and it started showing nute def early on talking like 2-3 weeks from sprout so i gave em soom food and boom next thing i kno im over fert by 1 gram-gallon of the maxibloom recipe. I just ran into prob after prob and as soon as i got a soulution another prob popped up. Idk if it was the seed started or not but that was prob my worst grow and my only time using seed starter..

Also i did hydro my first grow. Its alot more hands on. I liked it but i had a def i couldnt figure out for the life of me. now i kno its iron. But i will be returing to the hydro section as soon as i got extra cash and time to fuck around.
Coco is what im all about now. Pretty easy too

Anyone wanna recommend a good light or light kit? I am thinking about getting 3 good drainage pots and the soil and putting them in my 8'x15' room, or I have a 4'x4' room with a a/c system taking up a lot of it, but it has a vent and plenty of airflow.

In a small space would a 400w hps be good?

I found a 1000w light kit with a ballast that I could put in a room, but I think it would be too much heat in a 4x4 foot room and too little heat in a 8x15 foot room, am I right?
