Last Hope ..

Hey guys,

Im new to this so im 'trying' to grow some bagseeds i got from a friend.. Germination is always successful with the papertowel method but once i plant the sprouted seeds (root tip down) half an inch deep in soil.. It never grows and it rots in a week or so without growing not even a tiny bit.

Im using a mix of (organic soil+peatmoss+sand)

Last i tried planting a germinated seed into {peat moss ONLY!} and it was the only seed that sprouted.. but it looks weird and its tilted to the right.

Also it stopped growing it seems, and its 8 days old (since planted) the seed fell off easily but under it was this kinda crispy transparent sheet like holding the tip together.

My seedling looks weird and nothing like any other seedling i saw onlie.

The setup:

Indoors (closet)
area:1.5 foot square with white all around
light: 2x 100watt swirly CFL
temp: 30 C
water: bottled water
soil: Peat moss only!

Please help ! Its my only last hope

Will try uploading some photos..

Thanks alot and i appreciate any sort of help

Peat moss only is going to retain a lot of water man. I would go 50/50 peat and perlite or at least 75/25 peat and perlite

i dont understand how it could be your only last hope

unless u live in alaska and your hookup died

what kind of peat, rough raw stuff (too airy), or the compressed jiffy pellet type.

have you tested the peat for ph. where did u get the peat, hobby supply stores spray theirs with preservatives.

in my humble opinion. if its rotting in a week you have either

1. contaminated soil. (mold loves bags of dirt, lots of hydrogen peroxide can stop the rot)
2. contaminated air supply. (mold riding the air in)
3. too much moisture. (neither of the above situations work well without high moisture.
4. too much heat. (30C is 86F, thats incubation temp right there. lower your temp by 10F for the first few week)
5. overcomplicating the issue. you say this always happens. so something is wrong. remove factors untill the answer is aperant.
6. bad water. (when i lived in eugene OR, the entire city water supply was contaminated with a fungal agent, everybody called it withering creeper, and some thought it was an intentional contamination, but would the US gov really do something like that?

solutions

1. get some 35% food grade hydrogen peroxide. mix a 1-3% solution and use it alot. no it wont hurt your plants, only damaging to some microfuana.
2. drop the temp untill your plants can resist mold better
3. cut how much you water in half
4. leave a peice of chease on 3 or 4 plates. place one plate in a few diff rooms and one in the grow room. (whichever one gets green first has more contributing fungal factors)

Just sounds like damping off (rot), try a peat pellet to start your seeds. They can be found at most garden centers. Hard little discs. Moisten, let expand and set seed in top. Transplant the whole gizmo. Happy gardening! GrowIT!:weed:

Guys thanks for your tips,

I will explain why this is the last hope, i live in a country that does not have weed, they import hash. I brought some seeds back with me while on a trip. So there u go..

I got the peatmoss im using from a gardener, its like chunky and i crumble it with my fingers + it got brown hairs all over.

I cant seem to find many of the suggested, soils, ferts, nutrients here... This is a HOT HUMID country that does not really grow anything. They depend on freckin OIL here... anyways its hard for me to find alot of the stuff i require.. so im trying to rock with as much solutions i can do using basic stuff..

Yesterday i bought some Japanese organix mix (peatmoss, vermiculite, perlites) will that do ?

Here are some photos i took, hope they help.
