I'd be game man! haha.Damn that is one fat bud!! I'm jealous lol.. So we should be doing smoke reports around the same time depending on how fast they dry!! We should roll a SR ER hybrid!!
Do you have any pics of your? I've noticed two different phenos myself. It's weird though, this 3rd plant looked more like the 1st plant, but the trimmed bud looks like the bud of the 2nd. Like the 2nd plant, the sugar leaves are really thick and I had to cut most of them completely off. On the 1st plant, the sugar leaves were small and almost completely covered with resin so I was able to just trim them up a little and keep some on. I know that's more of a personal preference, but I like to keep the smaller leaves on or cut them in 1/2 if they are sticky. I don't really see any difference in taste with the sugar leaves on. Also, this 3rd plant isn't minty like the first 2.Very nice! I'll be very happy if my main colas look like that. I'm amazed at how different my 5 Easy Ryders are growing, all in the same grow box except for one. They've all had exactly the same soil, lighting, water and nutrients, yet one of them is over 10" tall at only 23 days from seed, and is incredibly healthy looking, whereas my other 23-day-old ERs are only about 5-6" tall, and my oldest at 28 days is only 6.5" tall (though all are very healthy and full). The height isn't the only difference, my 10"+ ER is flat out huge all around, and has a monster stalk and stems. It's been growing about 3/4" at least in every direction for about the last week or more, and at this rate I can't even imagine how big it's going to be at 70-80 days. As far as the buds go, those all seem to be growing pretty similar so far (and obviously not very big yet since they've only been flowering for about 6-10 days). I've put a lot of effort into these girls so they better produce!
BTW, what have you used in the way of supplements and nutes? I've been going very easy on mine, since most people say less is more with Autos, as long as you start off with good soil and I'm using FFOF + some extra Black Gold Perlite. The only things I've added at all have been a Silicon solution called Pro-Tekt and some Hygrozome with every feeding, until they started to flower then I also started adding a bloom nute.
Yeah I've noticed that. Seems like people get better results indoors compared to outside. I think it has something to do with being able to keep them on a 20/4 inside compared to the 14/10 I was getting outside. Factor in cloudy days and a few trees blocking my light in the morning and evening and I'm actually only getting like 8 hours of direct sunlight a day. Although I think hour to hour, sunlight is much stronger than indoor light. Just needed more of it.nice bro

One day my friend lol.. Maybe we will just hold off and do a WonderWoman/ceres purpleI'd be game man! haha.
No idea bout you guys, but my ERs are ready for water every other day at this stage of their lives (around day 28-30). Used to be around 3 days when they were younger but they're drinking it up fast now, with no signs of over watering except the bottom set of leaves which are literally at soil level and get soaked every time I water.I don't start feeding until at least 3, sometimes 4 weeks into the grow. Given their short life span, and the long time between watering, they don't get much nutes.
Well if it isn't insanely hot and they are calling for water that much, maybe they need a bigger pot? I had mine in 2 gallon buckets and when it would rain, the soil would be completely saturated and they wouldn't need water again for at least 4-5 days. Although towards the end, they were drinking it up a little quicker. No idea bout you guys, but my ERs are ready for water every other day at this stage of their lives (around day 28-30). Tough comparison since you grew outdoors and your plants would get totally saturated, whereas I try not give much more water than the soil will hold without it all running out the bottom, but it's interesting to know. I'm using 2 gallon pots for mine, which is what almost everyone had recommended to me when I started the grow, although the soil isn't all the way to the top of course. Since then I've seen that a lot of people prefer 3 gallons for their autos, but I'm committed to 2 gallons for this grow. I'd probably fill the pots slightly higher next time though. On the topic of temps, it's no secret in my journal that I've battled temps lol, but for the most part now they stay between 75-85 in my main box, and might climb as high as 90 when measured at the leaves nearest a bulb using a probe. I wasn't planning on using a second box originally and when I built it for my 2 extra plants the only fan I had available was like 37 CFM I think. It's fine for replenishing the air in the box, but doesn't do much to cool things.Well if it isn't insanely hot and they are calling for water that much, maybe they need a bigger pot? Yeah, yours looked amazingly green when you were about ready for harvest, and in general the plants looked killer. Mine looked that way too until this problem happened, but of course I wasn't ready for harvest so I don't know if they would have or will start to get the typical deficient appearance in the leaves just before harvest. My problem definitely wasn't the routine yellowing of the leaves shortly before harvest. If I weren't able to get it under control all of my fan leaves would be completely gone well before I made it to harvest, and that isn't normal.I've had that yellowing problem with my non auto plants, but the leaves on these stayed green until the day I picked them.
Personally I liked the bigger pheno better. It was really fruity tasting. The smaller one got extremely frosty, but the sugar leaves were really thick and had to be completely removed. A lot when to waste and it took forever to trim.
I really like this strain when I was growing it, but I dunno if I'd ever grow it again. Next season I might give Diesel Ryder a try.
Thanks a lot buddy. I had a similar problem with the fan leaves turning yellow and falling off early into flowering with one of big photoperiod plants. I thought it could have been pH or needed some cal mag, but I really had no idea. I ended up just giving it 2 heavy feedings a couple days apart and it stopped it. The leaves that had any yellow to them still ended up dying though. They don't turn back to green again. In that case I think because it started flowering so suddenly and heavily that it pulled what it needed out of the fan leaves. It happened so quick I went from having a near perfect plant that was full and green to a skeleton in like 5 days. It pulled through, but no question it affected the final yield.Yeah, yours looked amazingly green when you were about ready for harvest, and in general the plants looked killer. The problem seems to be getting under control finally, after switching from my Brita filtered water to distilled water, and after 2 feedings/waterings using "Revive", and one feeding/watering with bloom nutes (all watering included Hygrozyme as well). I'm pretty convinced it was related to changing my Brita filter from my 1-2 year old filter to my brand new one that caused it, since I did that about 1-2 days before the problem started, but I can't specifically say why it caused it. Nothing else whatsoever changed in my regimen except I fed them Molasses once, but I'm pretty sure I saw the problem starting before that. Besides, almost everyone uses Molasses and it doesn't kill off all their fan leaves or they wouldn't use it.
As far as the two Pheno's appearance, my smaller Pheno totally looks like a XMAS tree that's been flocked, they're totally dusted at 6 weeks. My larger pheno hasn't taken on that appearance yet after the same amount of time, but I presume that'll happen pretty soon. As you say, the sugar leaves do look very thick on the smaller ones, so I guess I'll have to remove them too. This is my first rodeo so I'm still going to have to learn the ins and outs of the entire harvesting process.
I would grow these again, the size is right and they're fun plants to grow, but I just purchased the seeds for my next grow and it didn't include any Easy Ryders. I'm not going to do more than 4 plants this next time (maybe less) and they're all different strains: Afghan Kush Ryder, Red Dwarf, Sweet Dwarf, and Snowryder. Got a bunch of great freebies as usual but they're all Photoperiod, and I don't want to mess with them yet, maybe when next season comes and I can grow outdoors. Still have freebies left from my Easy Ryder purchase, in fact I might grow one of those instead (Blue Him. Diesel auto).
Anyway, congrats on your grow, especially since you were able to do it outside and save a buttload of money on equipment and elctricity that I had to blow. Your plants looked killer.
Sorry for taking so long to reply, I wasn't subbed to your thread. Wow, your yellowing problem was even worse than mine by the sounds of it. Mine are near skeletons now as far as the fan leaves go, still have plenty of sugar leaves, but it's taken a good 3 weeks of losing them to get to this point. Real question is what's going to happen between now and harvest in a couple weeks if I don't have hardly any fan leaves left. At this point if I harvested today I'd estimate around half an Oz from each plant give or take. Since I have another 10-14 days left I'm hoping that will increase closer to 3/4 of an Oz per plant, but I'll be satisfied either way as long as the bud is good and I harvest at the right time. BTW, how many days did yours go from seed to harvest? Seems most people are harvesting around 10 weeks even though they're supposed to harvest at 7.Thanks a lot buddy. Well it sounds like you have an excellent lineup for your next grow. Is Sweet Dwarf from Advanced Seeds? The first auto I did was their Low Girl and I really enjoyed it. The yield was pathetic, something like 5g, but it was completely my fault. I did it just as an experiment and planted it in a horrible outdoor plot. It got like no light. The little that was there was excellent though. Nice piney smell and taste and very potent. Curious to see how Sweet Dwarf does.
