LCD lighting is very efficient and uses very little energy and puts out extremely little heat. LCD lights for growing are expensive and you need a lot of them, so it is practical to use MH, HPS, or CFLs/fluoro tubes, but if you have enough of and the right kind of LCD they are the best type of lighting.

haha ya sorry LED.
So LED would NOT be a good choice? If money wasent an issue?
IF money was absolutely no issue at all then yes, they are a good choice, kinda... their main POTENTIAL benefits have been discussed repeatedly so no need for me to go over em. But if money is truly no issue then the less power, less heat, benefits are largely voided. If money is no issue, simply scale up a HPS operation with all the top of the line goodies.

But if you got the change, I will be a cheerleader for you. I just want to see someone shell out the money for a legit led only grow with the intentions of growing amazing stuff.

you can't reinvent the wheel man - LED's scientifically and practically are an inferior light to anything else on the market. HPS is tried and true. CFL's are tried and true (with less yields). LED's are toys...they don't grow shit!

Please continue, you have my attention! I thought LCD's did thier best work on flatscreen TV's and various other electronics. Where in the world would I go about getting some LCD growlights?

Hey
LED lights grow a plant in nice proportion but the bud production is so shitty, I would rather use a 25W lamp light.

He hit the nail on the head that time !!!!!

LCD lighting would be cool though. Flat screens surrounding the plant. :)

I bet you they put out enough light to grow better than LED's.

Can't, I'd have to sign up to get access to that, it's flagged for over a certain age and I don't want to bother.

Anyway I've seen other video's, usually made always by those selling the things and never by a third party that grow well, but no third party has had the same level of success. Why is that?

There was actually a couple of displays that Paradise and another breeder (i cant remember if it was paradise for sure, but it was a BIG name like that - definitely a breeder thats "big doggin it" in the community) had over at the cannabis cup this year, of grows done completely with LEDs. The plants were fat as fuck, with big juicy colas too. From what they were saying in the vid, they were using a new type of led panel that had twice the output as the old panels. Now, again this could be a marketing ploy, and they stuck some plants grown with a HPS in their display n threw some LEDs over them to make it look good, but then again, they were some respectable names in the game using them and trying to market them as the next big thing.

Now, ive seen the comparison between HID lighting and LED lighting when growin pot, and IMO theres no comparison, i feel the same way as everyone else, but reguardless of whats been done already and the "go with whatcha know" motto when it comes to grow methods, new and innovative ways to grow are always being sought out, and if fine tuned properly, LEDs do have massive potential to allow us all to grow like we normally would, with 1/4 of the electric bill that we would normally have with a standard grow op goin. Im not saying that LEDs are anywhere near ready to be able to make that claim, but i am saying that if they keep at it, theres definitely potential there....

I would be lookin for LEDs within the next year or two to make a pretty big re-emergence, causing alotta people who counted them out, to take a second look at them, perfected, and highly productive.

For now though, stick with the HPS/MH setup.if you veg MH n flower HPS, youll get results like no other lighting on the market right now, other than mother sun herself :D

happy growin man ;)

Uh huh, again, just one independant third party. One. And not have them cost $2000 a sf for a good set of lights either.

I agree, maybe there's something to it. Who wants to waste their money first and then create a grow journal on here? An Existing member. Any existing member...

Actually the video is time lapsed. side by side, UFO vs 400hps that its suppose to be equivalent to. The hps smokes it, but i think the leds out vegged the mh
