Thanks for dropping by.. I hate to have to post photos and ask but I guess everyone is a newbie at some stage!
This is a second time grow I will try to be thorough. The first grow was discarded after 1 week, suffering badly from the same apparent issue.. After hours of looking online I am still unsure as to what exactly is going wrong but some thing I have done this time was better than the last.
The Issue:
I am starting to see slight yellowing, small dark brown/grey spots appearing on leaves (magnesium?), slightly wilting larger leaves (overwater/bad drainage?) I have uploaded a single HQ photo for ease of viewing.
The Set Up:
25L organic potting mix no nutes
5L perlite
2x white widow x skunk
2x barneys farm critical x kush
The first time i watered every morning with distilled /pure water... the water PH was around 7 the plants died quickly after.
This time i have been watering every morning with tap water. it has a higher PH of 9 or 10. Run off closer to 7 (I'm guessing due to the initial soil PH?)
I only water until its full and not pissing water out the bottom of the cup.
I have added a small amount of sulphur to the mixture in hope to bring the PH down gradually..
My temporary set up is providing more than adequate light (4x 24 watt CFL at 6500K) And the temperature is 22-29*C / 71-85*F humidity 40-50%... everything has been running 24/7 light and fan to keep air circulation and promote a strong stem..
I did mix up a quarter dose of both powerfeed and seasol and feed a couple of days ago, maybe that's what has kept the plant alive longer than the first round, not so sure though.
I'm aware that to properly feed the plant an ec reading will need to be taken . what is the best way to do that at this stage? The plants are still so tiny , about an inch tall.
Really looking forward to some friendly advice
