leaf tips (help)

ok i was just wondering if cutting the tips off the leafs does any good for the plant?? just reading and i seen where some say it helps the roots grow is it true and if so how many leaf tips should i cut and whan should i cut them? thanks

I have see this technique used many many times with CLONING plants... I have never used it and find it unnecessary too..

Although, Most of the plants/clones i have seen in dispenceries have the tips of the leaves cut.
