Leafs are green, but feel dry?

Hey Everyone--

I have a quick question... My plant which is my second attempt (therefore, trial and error still apply lol)

looks fine, seeing as how she re-bounded from over-watering, a transplant and acidic soil (hard to believe she is still alive... least I'm hoping it a she) .... the plant is just over a month old now, however growing much slower then others due to my fuck-ups. The problem is, the leaves look green and healthy, but when you touch them- they feel like paper- very dry. The new growth however, seems fine, feels lush and moist, its just the existing leaves that are a problem.

I should mention I tried foliar feeding (incredibly diluted) but woke up to notice a bit of nute burn, so I switched back to pure, filtered water only.

I also noticed that the dry leaves, the serrated part seems to be pointing upward... hard to describe lol...

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I did post pics but my camera is a piece of crap lol. Sorry for the pic quality.

Thankx for any input!

if the leaves that feel dry are the leaves that suffered through the mishaps you had then its just from that...

my drain pump on my ebb and flow system failed and my system was flooded for 2 hours..

had really bad nute burn on my plants... some of them had leaves that turned to almost a paper feel... very dry.. almost transparrent..

once they recovered they began growing new foliage, but the affected foliage stayed the same...

eventually the dried leaves fell off once the plant had enough new foliage to sustain grow...

as long as your plant is growing new lush foliage (even if it is slow) then it will survive.. recovery time may take a while.. but it'll pull through.. now if the new foliage comes out lush and starts drying out like the rest of the leaves then you have an issue you need to address...

I would say they just need time and they will come back. Generally, leaves that curl up need more nutes and those that curl down need less.

Thankx for the input guys-- + rep for both of you :)

Do you think I should try introducing nutes ? The plant is 1 month, and 2 days old approx. I have all purpose fert that is 20-20-20-- if I use that at an extremely diluted concentration-- would that work? I have fed a bit of bone meal and dolomitic limestone for Ca and Mg with past waterings (very diluted ofcourse)...

Thankx again

it may be worth starting out with a 1/4 strength nute application/flush...

by that i mean flush your plant, but do it using a 1/4 strength nute app...

this will help flush the soil of any salts in it.. for whatever reason using a small amount of nutes while flushing removes more salts than just water.. it will also give your plant a basic feeding to help kick start growth again..

after you flush/feed keep an eye on her to see how she reacts... you may also want to do an alternating feeding schedule for a while... one where you feed with nutes one time and just water the next.. until you see she is thriving again.. then feed as your normally would..

also increase the amount of feed with each watering... a little at a time.. being careful to watch and not over do it...
