Leaves pointing upwards??

Howdy all,

I woke up to find this had happened to my new lovely little autos:

I think it may be a case of over watering, but i also have a large range of temperatures in the box during the day, 10 - 35 degrees c.

Can anyone shead some light of the cause of this?

its a 200W CFL, growing phase. and its was about 10 cm away from the plants, but since the leaves turned upward i've had to move it further away to stop the tips burning
 
That is generally an indication that the air temp is too hot. The plants will point the leaves up to reduce the amount of light to the top of the leaves while allowing the undersides to respire easily. I'm not indicating that this is your problem, but a 35 degree swing in air temps is kinda severe. Keep an eye on temps. See if the leaves come down with lower temps. Mist cool water on undersides of leaves and record results. If they start coming down, you know it is temp.
 
okely dokely, i have tried to turn the heat down and the pic i attached at the top shows the leaves alot more relaxed than they were when i first noticed this.

i will take a misty water spray to them and hope for the best.

then its too hot. the plant is turning the leaves to reduce heat. find a portable a/c unit or open a window. you need to moderate the temp a 25 degree swing, especially in Celsius is way too much.
 
i have a small fan heater in the room as its currently winter and the box is not inside the house so it can get pretty cold, 5- 10 degrees c. (im using CFL and a v.good extractor fan so not much heat is generated from the light)

the heater has a thermostat that is supposed to keep the temp constant, but i dont think it can deal with the large temp differences quickly enuf

Here in the Rockies. I had to add a baseboard heater and program the temp to 82 degrees 24/7. I like to keep it 85day-75night. I have CO2 going thats why I like the higher temps. Without CO2 I would be at 79day/68night. The 82 degree temp from the heater plus the 62 degree temp in basement equal 72 on the thermometer at canopy level and they LOVE CO2!! Holy Crap. Purple Elephant (Elephant Purple) has grown 4 inches in 3 days after adding CO2 bag.
