Hi people, I've been lurking and reading and having a dabble at a small hydro grow. I seem to be moderately successful at growing plants but haven't been able to keep the plants healthy through their flowering.
I'm currently in a country where there are NO hydro shops of any sort, so I'm unable to go and buy what most people take for granted - I'm limited to what I already have here.
I'm using a 7 hole Aerogarden. Flame away but I'm really restricted in size and placement so the Aerogarden was a good solution.
I currently have two 5 week old Big Bang clones growing in the tank. I used Aerogarden 5ml nutrient satchet (4-3-6) and with my (185ppm tap water) the ppm came up to around 750-800. pH correcting it took it about 850ppm. Within the last week, the leaves have started to get a "tiger stripe" appearance. The mother I took these clones from went the same way and died. I thought it was a nitrogen issue with the mother but nothing I did seemed to work. After reading through the forum and looking at charts, I'm thinking that this might be a magnesium deficiency. As I said, I'm extremely limited as to what I can get out here. I have at my disposal:
Aerogarden nutrient (4-3-6)
MaxiGrow (10-5-14)
MaxiBloom (5-15-14)
Formula Flora Grow (19-5-20)
Formula Flora Bloom (15-6-30)
pH up and down, liquid and powder
Epsom salts, lol
I turned my fan off last night as the older leaves started feeling a bit like paper and I thought the fan might have been drying them out. I shat myself this morning when I checked and the top of the taller plant was all curled up. I've jacked the light up a bit and turned the fan back on so hopefully that part I worked out for myself.
However, if the tiger striping IS magnesium deficiency, how much epsom salts do I add to my reservoir to clear it up?
The first two attachments show how the mother's leaves went, the next two attachments are the clones as of yesterday and the last two attachments are what I found this morning.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
