I stay away from these, but technically you could use them, do they pull 28 watts at the wall? I think the 28 watt unit only pulls 10 actual watts, so you would ideally want 100+ watts per plant so 10 of these at the non-discounted price would be $50 approx. Taking this theory a step further, a grow room with 10 plants, would require 100 of these or $500, which is WAY less than you would spend on professional panels for the same grow area. You should run a test with 10 bulbs on 1 plant and see what happens, I am skeptical, but would be very interested to see results. I saw a guy make a frame from PVC with screw on e27 flush mount sockets for a CFL cloning tent, I think he wired them in series and it worked well, if a little ghetto looking. He had the frame with something like 12 CFL's in it, something similar might work in your test. Let us know.
