Im about to embark on a research paper investigating the possiblitiy of producing small scale home grow units to be marketed as a sustainable alternative to high impact supermarket produce. obviously home grown food has a much smaller enviromental impact, as it cuts out the entire supply chain and all the bad stuff that goes along with it.
I've got a lot of questions, how quickly can they turn around crops for, what cost could a unit be produced for (Im thinking something the size of a small fridge, but also looking at comunal rooms which could be incorporated into shared dwellings such as blocks of flats), is it possible to generate enough energy from the grow process (such as harnessing power from the water running through the hydro system) for it to power itself (or at least part power) and loads more,
I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this subject or can suggest good reading material,
