Led hanging sideways for additional lighting?

Hi
Ive only ever grown under hps/mh
Don't really plan on changing that
But I was wondering
Can I hang led lights sideways to give me additional lighting on the sides?

I'm flowering under a 1k watt hps.
I'd like to hang a few elcheapo panels up just as supplemental lighting
Would this be beneficial or just a waste of electricity?

You can use them as side lighting, however they do need some distance. I'd just look at strip builds if you were wanting a cheapish diy led that can be ran pretty close but still get some penetration.

It could be benificial.
But a cheaper and probalby more benifcial way to increase your yield would be to fill your space better and cut your nutrients down a bit.

Look on Craigslist for a decent ballast if needed. There’s always guys ditching perfectly good gear. Just be sure they can show it’s in good working order. You need to back off the nutrients like @coreywebster said. You’ve got some major clawing going on. Have you gotten your environment (heat and rh) in a good place? You want to make sure that’s in order before adding another light. More light more heat just something to think about. Other than that the panels for side lighting meh you may end up bleaching your plants especially with cheap led panels. Also what’s the size of your area your growing in again?

My temps are decent
My humidity is a whole other monster
I live in the south and its crazy
I can at some point put a better a.c. unit in the window IF I do end up getting the hid
I am using half strength nutes now
The newer plants are looking healthy
Hoping for a decent harvest.
That one large plant was started with the intention of going start to finish in one closet.
Then I got my 1k light and moved some stuff around.
Ill dbl check the dimensions when i get home
Its around 6x6x7
With a sink and a hot water heater I can't remove.
Have a 6 in carbon filter/fan and a tower fan for additional circulation.
The only exhaust is thru the a.c. units exhaust.
I'm waiting on my bro to come hook up this dryer vent to my wall so i can run the heat from the light out.
As of now it just blows out thru the hood

My current plants in veg have still received nothing but ph'd water

I know all about that southern humidity (from Louisiana) you need that exhaust outside ASAP to try and drive the humidity down. You can try a dehumidifier but but given where your at it needs to be piped to drain constantly.

adding a light mover to 1k hps would out yield elcheapo leds or add 315W cmh to boost quality & yields

id say it would be better to work on filling your grow space better learning to scrog and keep plants growing low over hanging lights on the side
no point getting light to the bottom stuff on the plant chop it off and focus on the tops
