Led heat/fan size.

What sized exhaust fan would be ideal with a 2x4x5 tent and a 300w led?

I have a 176cfm exhaust fan but recently thinking it may not be enough.

Should i expect my exhaust fan to exhaust pretty much all of the heat in my tent created from a 300led?

You'll likely want a 6 inch fan (assuming the tent doesn't have 8 inch holes) and buy a speed controller. When a speed controller you can fine turn to the exact cfm you need to keep it the temp you need.

Its going to depend on what LED your talking about.

There are "300w" LEDs that are not near 300w (they are just called 300w because 100x3w diodes adds up to 300)
Then there are DIY or Kits or reputable lights that call a true 300w light 300w because that's what it pulls at the wall.

Any blurple light that is called 300w is probably 130w region.

But i will work it out for both cases.

With a true 300 watts at the wall. 176cfm minus about 25% for filter and ducting will give you about 4-5degrees C temp rise above your ambient air ( air going in)

With say a vipar spectra with true wattage of 130w you will likely see a 2 degree rise in temp from ambient.

So its going to greatly depend on what LED your talking about.
It also depends on length of ducting and size and brand of filter, but that can be only estimated because the filter companies don't tell us the resistance.
It also depends on if you are ventilating properly, as in if you are venting the heat directly out of the house and not just trying to vent into the room your in. If your doing the latter then the air will be warmed up more from each pass through the set up.
