LED Lighting

I havn't noticed much talk of this on here, has anyone tried using LED grow lights? Have you had any sucess with these. It would appear after what i've read that they would be amazing for closet grows as it puts off almost no heat, and its in the spectrum of what any plant would need. If you have any information please let me know.

the short answer is they are great but not great. they do emit a lot less heat and the light is absorbed at a lot higher rate, but it causes some stretching and they are expensive as hell. they are the future, but hids are a lot better for right now.

I used them on my first grow, and was disappointed in the quality of the plants. It does indeed cause a lot of stretching in the plant and not enough light for good bud production. Trust me, just go ahead and stick with HID lighting or if you are more concerned with heat and energy cost then go with t5 CFL.

Thanks for the link, and i'm currently using a couple of t5s due to the heat issue a hid would be out of the question.

I've got some info for you - you can expect amazing results.... amazingly small buds for the loot you shelled out.

I agree - they're great... for growing pathetic, spindly, weak-ass plants.
