LED lights in Canada.

Been looking into LED lights more suited for 1-4 lighter grows and its either iffy Chinese brands or expensive horticultural panels that would still cost $900-1000+

I did apply for an wholesale account with a well known Chinese brand and there's fuck all for profit in it, not even worth selling vs what that brand goes for on Amazon/Ebay. I tried a Canadian company a year or so back and wholesale was $100 less what they were selling them on their own site not including free shipping. So would have to fork over $1250 and sell it for $1350 as listen on their site and still do free shipping which would be average $30

Trying to get something that will at least do as good as a 600W HPS light where someone can get say 1lb dry out of a 10-12 week crop with up to say up 16 plants.

I have no experience with newer Mars lights
From what I understand they just use some good drivers with the same boards you’d get from Ali baba. I don’t really know though.

Still scarred from my old “lite-brites” from mars

maybe something is missing here but I think if you sourced your own stuff and produced your own fixtures out of Canada it would be a better quality control and customer service than Chinese led companies through eBay and shit

Still considering Mars as have met three new customers that are using the ts1000 and ts2000 and they like them. This more for smaller hobby growers and not 20+ lighter guys but haven't seen any good videos online that are not promo videos where the user got a free light to test out.

I have purchased a couple of the fusion board kits from growlights

I just picked up one of these for 199. Samsung stamped boards.

125 Watt FB288 LM301H 3500k + 660nm + UV +IR LED Fusion Board Light DIY Kit

I also have a 2 board set in 3k i use in a tent.

The latest offerings have this for 40 dollars more on a board
125 Watt 3500k CREE XP-E2 + 660nm + LG UV +IR LED FB272 LM301H V4 Light DIY Kit

These are chinese factory standard parts. You could get them branded to your liking in an order as low as 10 units for most of the stuff over there if you can find the vendor.

The 3500 is really a perfect light for the 50 x 80 x 150 cm tent i have it in (5 square feet 125 watts)

I'm on a limited budget atm as brought in lots of MC, Jacks, Gaia Green and stuff for micro greens. I know suppliers and cutomers who went the Alibaba route and its a shit show for warranty and dealing with Chinese companies. Also not a fan of the hokey wires for the driver and dimmer on the King Bright products. Rather have proper plugs. I'll do some more research on those but atm probably rather pay more for proper plugs and warranty issues.

Ok so say I wanted to do a test run of say King Brite panels. Would be wanting to get something comparable to 315W CMH and 600W HID . Something that would do 4-16 plants in a 4x4 tent. Reading through reviews on YT and other sites seems fishy as some off these companies seem to be doing lots of samples for reviews. Looks like I got tons of reading to do this week, which King Brite models would I be looking at on Alibaba?

my first light was a DIY fixture direct from HLG, 4x qb288 powered by 2x meanwell HLG-320H-C1400A drivers on a slate 5 heatsink ... it's dimmable from ~365-730 watts and all in cost maybe 750$ canadian??

my second fixture was direct from China and i made sure to buy the exact same boards and drivers so i could compare apples to apples. this time i was ordering a light for my veg tent so i got exactly half of my flower fixture (2x qb288 w/ LM561C diodes and 1x meanwell driver), and they were identical to the HLG boards and output was the same (could only test lumens because no par meter) only difference was the price was 1/4 what HLG charged. i'm quite sure the chinese company i ordered from was one of HLGs original suppliers, Shenzhen Meijiu LED.

when i ordered i made sure to mention i was only placing a small sample order to test before placing a much larger order to re-sell, so that they'd be more likely to send me the correct diodes

the new MARS lights are actually pretty good, the TS 3000 is 450 watts for $450 USD so $1/watt which is about the max i would want to pay for LEDs. the TS 2000 is 300watts for $250 USD so less than $1/watt but imo 300w wouldn't replace a 600w HPS even with the highest bin diodes.

from meijiu you can get a 480w, 4x qb288 (<-- hyperlink) fixture for under $400 CAD, so i think that's a much better deal imo

Main issue with Alibaba kits is I don't think I can sell them from a store as they have to be at least ETL certified. I think as a consumer you can buy them but legally I can't sell them. Also ETL kits are pretty much Mars priced anyways.

they are CE, RoHS, and EMC certified, not sure if that's sufficient or not
