How long should it be, prior to planting?

One of my seeds is about 1cm, long enough?

Im going to work now so hopefully will have answers when I get back, cheers!

it really doesn't matter... once that bastard cracks open... its practically born

you already have an idea of which direction the root is coming from, so placing it in dirt and some water isn't going to bother it....

people just like to see that little tadpole tail long because it gives you reassurance that the root is starting off good and you definately know the seed isn't a dud

Well I would leave the light on. As soon as it comes out of the soil it will need light.

you could leave it out in the sun or on a windowsill till it sprouts...

then put it under your light
