Lets do this!

Finally getting my hands on some COB leds! I have spent countless hours researching on all things lighting. When i discovered i had some cash flow coming in i put the nose to the grindstone and desgined/sourced what i thought would be a great unit in my budget for the footprint i needed. Setting up for a 4x8 but will have to do it as 2 4x4s. So anyway, i spent all this time researching, then i even drew up my design only to stumble back on the rapid led website, do some crunching and come to the conclusion that the vero 29 triple cob kit would put out about the same but ultimately cost less and be less work and probably a better idea for my first build. So i have 2 kits ordered and should be here sometime next week. Im building a 4x8x7 cabinet, insulated and sealed which will have a 4x4x4 lung room. The lung room will have AC, dehumidifier, CO2 with ppm control and photo sensor and what will be the "intake" to the flower chamber with a carbon scrubber. The flower chamber will be all grow except for the "exhaust"/return air filter also carbon scrubbed and piped right back into the lung room. I like the design i drew up initially so i think when the time comes to complete the 4x8 i will put that unit in the middle and run the 2 rapid kits on either end. Should break ground on this project within the week, try to keep yall posted! Will follow this post with some pics of my designs and some stuff im playing with now

My light design. A quantum board 288 4000°k driven with an hlg-120-54a in the middle and 4 luminous cxm22 3000°K on the corners driven by an hlg-320h-c1400. Comes out to about 430 watts, all passively cooled and mounted to an aluminum frame, 2.5x2.5 or so made of 3/4x1/8 angled. My design allowed for eventual expansion, adding another QB, more COBs or both! I want to keep it to 1200 watts or less of lighting. The tanish brown area represents prime coverege areas, the border being 4x4. The qb covering 2x3 and each COB covering 1x1 IMG_0460.JPG

And the grow box! Both doors will be full frontal openings with the lung room bottom up with something to hold it open. The flower room though, top down. Both boxes will be built on frames, raising them up almost 4". The lights will be on yo yos but also track that will let me move them front to back. Point being, i can raise them all the way up, push them back and have a nice walk in cabinet. This all together provides a small enviroment to control without sacrificing too much accessibility. Ill also throw in some lexan windows with covers for peepin in on em without poppin the whole thing open. This is drawn up with only 2d to work with so some things are out of place. Will also probably not do the CO2 manifold into the flower chamber as it seems redundant IMG_0461.JPG

This is a light i just built. Got a deal on some 2 bulb 2' t5 fixtures at home depot. Upgraded them to a t5ho ballast and horti bulbs. Been using them for veg for a wile but no longer needed as ive built a panel using household led bulbs. Dug out an old 100 watt mh fixture and built unit i can use to flower a 2x2 tent i picked up on the cheap. IMG_0457.JPGIMG_0459.JPG
