Let's get to the bottom of this

Hopefully we can clear some of this up, all the reputable websites that cover when to harvest seem to have a similar thesis, that cloudy trichomes with slight amber are when the girls are at their highest THC level. However the majority of professionals here on rollitup seem to have determined that a couple weeks after this is best. So is the extra couple weeks for weight and fatter flower structure only or what? Please elaborate if you guys have opinions on this. Thanks in advance!

Im a pretty new grower. Only 2 crops so far. 3rd is 3-4 weeks out. I find the whole trichome thing to be tricky. I got one of those electric microscopes and even with that its pretty hard to see the trichomes. Theres a picture @Doug Dawson posts about swollen calyxes and thats the best way to tell if its done imo.

Honestly just let the plant keep going. Dont count weeks. Once its fully swollen up and looks plump you'll know the difference then. Its night and day. Youll be like ah shit thats what its supposed to look like

Does this look ready, because he said to wait another week for this lol. Swollen calyxes, all hairs brown seems to me, their even curled in, so that shows maturity, and I’m waiting for the answer on if the trichomes are almost all clouded on the plant ✌

To me its kinda hard to see the picture, but i think it could go a little longer. For me i know its just about there when my buds look like they have these tumors coming out of it. the calyxes portrude out of the bud almost becoming another bud. Could be totally wrong, and if i am someone correct me, but thats what works for me. Sorry i font have pictures. Give me a couple more weeks

It varies for a lot of reasons, but I have in several runs not pulled a single plant in the breeder suggested time. The least was 1 week past, most commonly 3 weeks past. Some go 5 past.

If i had to give a rule that "works", it would be grow 3 weeks past the breeder suggestion. Only if problems or nanas show would i pull earlier.

The signs you mention say you can now use the trichs to determine when its done. That picture says you are close, it is not conclusive.

Closeups of the trichs are you guarantee.

Yes, I would give it another week. It's all good good thought, opinions vary. It is comforting to know there are those out there advocating chopping early, it makes sure there is always worse weed out there than mine. So yes, he said wait another week, lol. And he sticks by that. Almost all clouded, let's look up what the world almost meansI don't think it means what you think it means.gif because.........

Dude, you need to take a vacation from giving people advice. You have been called out about it, MANY times. Stop talking out your ass, if you don't know what the hell you are talking about. You are just going to have people fuck their shit up, if they happen to listen to you.
swear to god if people listen to him they are gonna be drenching every plant in calmag, starving them 4 weeks early and cutting down at the first site of red hairs

the thing about grass is all about the high, breeders sellseeds with the promise of a great high, that word high is asociated with the high you get from what some call underflowered plants. now the high there selling you is the racy high you get from a plant thats been flowered for the shorter period.
the high from letting her go on for longer produces the couch lock high, and i dont see how places like the coffee shops in amsterdam would function if everyone was compleatly couch locked.
in my opinion, high means racy high, thats why i harvest earlier then most growers. couch locked means stoned to me, not very lively and slow

The fact is the process is subjective. A grower needs to harvest in sections to see what they like best. Do some colas with all milky, some with Amber, some with all Amber. It's really all personal preference.
