Lets talk about SEX!

Hey Guys and Gals,

Are these two G13 plants boys or is it too early to tell? I only planted 2 G13 so I hate to have to pull them but I don't want them to pollinate my mowie wowie so I gotta get em out as soon as I know they are male.

Take a look and let me know! I suspect they are male... but it might be too early still. It's been 4 days into flowering. I only upload the best picture but they both look exactly the same.

By looking at that first photo, I am going to roll the dice and say it is a Male.

i would leave it a day or so i would not like to say just yet they could just be calyxes. in fact i think they are female(from that pic) but i would wait are see if those little buggers produce hairs over the next day or so.

sounds good. How long do I have untill I have to worry about pollen? There's 4 girls sitting next to those ones in the pic and I can't seperate them due to space/lighting issues. These are my last 2 G13 seeds and I'd like to clone one if it ends up female.

i would say female, you have enough time to separate male from female dont stress bro its not like you have to have them out instantley as soon as the balls have to appear and then it takes time to open and spread pollen, chill out.

i would NOT like to say how long before a male pop's it's ball's but i would say i think you will be ok for a day or two, you should see some thing within the next 48 hours.

I find snappy titles get the most readers. Thanks for all the advice guys. I was rdy to pull er out. good thing I asked. I'll post some new pics tommorow or the next day.

So 2 and a half days later, the one G13 is looking the same, however his sister (which I was also going to pull) ended up shooting out pistols. They were planted and have been growing side by side since birth. Is it now safe to say it's a male since his sister is showing? Time to pull er out or should I wait a few more days?

i would still wait they look like calyxes to me if it is male the balls get petty big before they pop and it will look like a ball just because the plants were grown at the same time they will not grow at the same rate, as with people plants grow at there own pace.

Alright, I'll leave it for a few more days. Sorry the pics arn't the best, I took like 16 and uploaded the best ones. Thanks for the props on being a dad, I really wanted a G13 I could clone, it's a killer strain and my last seeds. I'd hate to lose it. Stayed tuned, I'll upload some more pics in another day or two. So far I'm 3 for 4 females. I have a couple more on the go but they are clones so I know they'll be female. Should be a nice crop. I'm only using 1 gallon pots but I'm hoping my nurients and watering every few days will make up for that and I hope to get some decent buds. Thanks for all the replies! Keep checkin back.

No changes tonight, still looks exactly the same so I won't bother with more pics. My plants are shooting up and hitting the lights. I have a box that is a lot higher, it's was vegging some clones that are just under a foot each. I moved my flowering plants that were hitting the lights to that box and moved the smaller plants to the flowering box and synced the lights so they are all on the flower cylce. My last crop only grew a few inches after I started to flower (2-G13 and 1-romulan 3/disel) but these white widdow/mowie wowie plants I have flowering are still growing like crazy. When can I expect the growth to stop? They've only got another 8 inchs before I really have to rethink my setup.

BTW: Setup is 7 24W CFLs in a monitor box lined with mylar. It has 1 PC fan for intake and 1 for the exhaust which blows through a home made carbon filter. I have the bottom portion making a sort of bowl with white poly so that the water that leaks through will not get the cardboard wet. I am using promix with shultz nutes, will be switching to the probloom organic line nutes in a few days.

Well, you guys were right. My he is a she. In between the nodes it still looks exactly the same but I saw some ovaries on some new growth that were shootin out pistols, small ones, but definatly pistols. So I ended up 4 for 4 with my seeds. Wow, I really didn't plan on that. It's going to be cramped but I don't have the heart to pull a girl.
