So... I've got a few issues I'm wondering about.
First, a little background. Currently I have 3 Channel+ clones about 30 days old, currently in veg under 4x40w fluorescents. I'm keeping them at about 72 degrees F and 60% humidity and they seem to be doing well. Soilless grow (Pro Mix) using Canna Terra nutrients.
I'm planning on flowering in an enclosed 5x7 (by 7 feet high) wooden space that's in a basement - average daily humidity in the room was reading about 40% until I put my 2x600 HPS lights in there for a test run.... then the humidity drops to 25%.
I suspect some of this is related to the fan - I've got a 400CFM fan and the room is only about 250CF so that's almost 2 air changes per minute. I've got a fan speed controller on the way to me, so hopefully I can mitigate that somewhat - I also have a humidifier going in the room 24/7 although with the fan running so fast I've only been able to raise the humidity to about 27%.
I'd like to consider the idea of doing my veg growth in the 'flowering room' under MH lights (2x600w) and I guess I'm wondering how important the humidity is...
also curious about whether it makes more sense to veg in one room and flower in another, doing a "rotation" kind of thing - or whether I'll do better vegging under MH in the 'grow room' and them switch to HPS for flowering, and keep the fluorescent-equipped smaller room for mothers/cloning.
Rambling, I know... anyway, all thoughts and opinions are welcome and appreciated!
