So today I'm at work and I come to hear from my coworker that my hours are going to be cut in HALF. :cuss:

I'm so fucked. There is no work to be found around here, at least not without a degree.

So I see it like this...

If I don't find another job within the next week, I'll be homeless by next month. So if you see a guy on the street with a sign that says "Will Rollitup for $$$," hook me up with a few quarters or a pinner worth of some green.

Nope. I am not unemployed, but now I will only get 20 hours/week, not 40+.

But 20 hours a week will barely cover my rent and utilities. How will I eat?

Well... here's my problem(s) with going to the government for help.

1. I have a warrant for some bullshit tickets that I got at a bar I worked at, all crap that the OWNERS should have to worry about, not me just because I was the one there when the gestapo came in to write them.

2. I don't think the government should be giving ANYONE money. Period. Them giving me money means that they took it from someone else. So in my opinion, that's stealing.

3. I haven't filed an income tax return in years.

Good Luck Diggity. You seem like a good guy. Its refreshing to hear views that i agree with. I myself work all day and then polish floors in office buildings late, late night to make ends meet. It really pisses me off that I actually know people, who make almost as much as me per month- TOTALLY FREE! Doing absolutely NOTHING!They just get given it by the governemnt! wtf! I agree, no one should be given money for doing nothing when someone else works hard for it. I pay taxes. Why should I pay for someone who doesnt do shit? Sorry to hear that... When I was a GM mechanic I was also head of the teamsters there..During the 82-84 recession they wanted to do the same stuff... I blocked it... I would only allow a cut of no more than a 1 shift/days hours (eight)... if more was needed they had to lay someone(s) off completely ...yes that sucks, but instead of everyone going down the tubes only a few are lost...sounds harsh, but more established workers usually carry larger expenses ....etc... Are you unionized where you are...???

I haven't filed because I didn't owe them a dime.

Let me explain how govt. programs are stealing:

1. They take money from me/you/whomever that EARNED that money
2. They give said money to someone else who did NOTHING but apply for assistance

So in hindsight, it isn't stealing... it's ROBBERY because they'll take it by force if they have to.

AGREED! And I know alot of people will give shit over this but its true. We work hard for our money. We pay taxes (which only about 40% of Americans even pay any taxes at all)and then our hard-earned money goes to some crack addict who has multiple kids just so she can get that much more of our hard-earned money. Fuck that that is my biggest problem with this country.

idk man, i dont think the extra nickles and dimes im losin out on is supplying people with stocked shelves and full cupboards. and if it is, fuck power to em.

they're obviously less fortunate to have to depend on my shotcomings to survive.
