light cycle is getting majorly fucked

okay so im about 8 weeks into the flowering cycle the buds are a nice size on a few of my plants but i just had three mishaps with my lighting each either giving to much light during dark hours or visa versa because of a retard knocking out the power lines and my cat, ive got a battery generator now so no worries on power loss but here is my question, they had the cycles fucked with several times and interrupted during the night for like 2 hours or more im not entirely sure, i was told by a friend to try a 24 hour night cycle to fix this mishaps to kinda reset them im just really worried about them herming out and being fucking schwag, really don't wanna see that this far in. will the 24 hour night cycle rest them or have i done something terrible? im a noob please don't chastise me to severely

You would be better off to just resume normal light schedule than to fuck with some 24 hr shit.
