light died

my 400watt mh died on me today..stores are closed cos of new years holiday...my question is will one of my 400watt hps bulbs work in my mh lighting system without burning up something?.

the only way it will work is if the HPS is a conversion bulb or if your ballast has a switch on it to convert from MH to HPS. I would hate to see you go to the stores when they open up to buy an MH bulb and a new ballast. PEACE!

lol..thanks man, i would hate to spend the money on a new setup also.. i have just put 2 40 watt cfls in there that i use for cloning and seedlings..that should hold em til tommorrow.. thanks man
