Light fell on plant.. Please Help

Hey everyone,

I am about 45 days into flowering and the HPS bulb on my 400 watt cool tube went out. As I was replacing this light, the venting material from the cool tube fell on top of one of my babies and snapped the main stem. I decided to harvest the entire plant to avoid attracting mold into my grow space.

To make matters worse, as i was manicuring the baby nugs, one of the biggest nugs fell off the plant and into a glass of water... :wall:

Anyways, I've followed the harvesting guidelines from my Bible pretty closely. I have the top cut off and hung seperate from the rest of the plant which I have hanging upside down in my closet. My temperature is currently 72 degrees in my house with 40% humidity.

How long until I take the plant from outside the closet and begin curing? (I'm not looking for a time, but signs of when to start the curing process).

And also, if this ever happens again, could I have still salvaged the plant even with the top being severed?

Thanks errbody..

as far as what you actually are losing and what can be saved who knows, because this is an exception. Look at the trichromes under a microscope. but remember weed is a plant and yeah you dropped a fat bud in water while you were harvesting, but what if a plant near harvest outdoors was rained on. Obviously you shook off as much excess water as you could, did your best to dry it with out going psycho on it I hope.
As for the curing time, you'll have to play it by ear, wait till the chlorophyll has died and the plant is starting to become brittle. If they don't I guess you can't salvage. Really all you're doing in the curing process is redistributing moisture in the plant to give it an even smoke.
As for saving the plant, maybe? No pics on how bad the break was, how much of the plant was left. Maybe you can't save it, depending on how you grew your plants, how you trim them, how much of the plant is still attached to the root system, etc.

agreed on the water glass bud.. You also could have water cured that bud if you wanted to..

You could have tried to patch up the stank and graph it back on but I don't the weight would hold...

I would def try to be more careful in the future! Oh ya, when the stem of a drying bud snaps crisply and cleanly its time to put those babies in a jar. Be sure to keep he air gently moving in the closet. Not blowing directly on the hanging buds, just moving about a bit.
