Light height issue

I have 1000w hps cool tube hood. I plan on having 3 separate 6plant sites right now just have two after 3 weeks put the second line of 6 plant site but the first group shot up over that 3 weeks so the newest batch is about 5 ft from the light. Not sure how to remedy this issue. Or if it's a big problem I always thought you want it the closest without burning but not sure.

Any help/advice greatly appreciated.

If you cant move the light you may have to top and lst or super crop and tie them down to keep them lower

Gotcha. I've been practicing with super cropping but doing it during veg. Might try to tie them down.

You can super crop relatively safely within the first 2 weeks of flower but you have to be real gentle as to not stress or snap the tough stems, id just tie em down as need to keep a good dostance, youll probably increase the yield a little as a bonus
