Mines of e-bay a cheap 9 volt version, and lots of fun, and shockingly revealing ....lol I use it mostly in the winter when growing outside, just to shuffle plants from one sunny area to another, then you realize you are better of in the grow room ....lol ....for guys like me, that prefer to grow under lights, but just know the suns far better ....lol

If you have a smart phone with android marketplace I know they have lux meter apps that actually work. I have a meter but now I use the app because it is right on! :)

Lumens, lux, and foot-candles are all weighted units that discibe/show how bright it is to guans eyes...they have nothing to do with plant growth or true intensity. PAR is all the light in the visible spectrum. And a PAR meter measures all the light in there equally as where the lumen way is weighted.

Long story short if you are getting a meter get a PAR meter.
