light mover

i was trying to find an idea for a diy light mover. anyone ever build one? i have a few ideas and i am looking for some feed back so here it goes and if you can add to it please do. i was thinking i could use a christmas tree rotating stand and fasten a rod to it and hang the light from that and i would be able to adjust the light in and out for best coverage. also i was thinking i could also using the same tree stand of building a platform and have the plants rotate instead of the light. this way each side of the plant would get close to the same coverage. or i was going to put a chain on the stand and have it move just like a regular light mover. but i leaning toward the pole and it will move in a circular motion. so if you can think of adding to my idea that would be great thanks alot

all of you very intelligent people out there dont have any input. i have a 40 percent off cupon for ac moores and i think i am going to try it. it would make the tree stand just 15 bucks. and i am sure i have the other parts just laying around. i'll let you know how i make out
