light question.

first, thanks to all, i have learned much in my short time here.

i know that most use CFL lights for vegging and HPS lights for flowering, however, for now, all i can afford is a CFL light.

my question, though, is this: if i buy an HPS bulb, what type of medium do i put it into? i read that HPS bulbs cannot be put into regular fixtures (such as a desk lamp, just as an example) is this true? if so, then what do i put it in?

well, i don't really have that much money, is there a cheaper way to get an HPS setup? it's a small grow out of my closet.

check ebay for used HPS but plan in to by a new pair of bulbs with that! you can get them on ebay with a bit luck under 50 bucks, but you have to add another 50 for 2 spare bulbs!

and don't buy anything under 400W or you will pay a fortune on bulbs without power n punch
