Light Question

So growing 5 plants with 1 50w cfl is hard.

Forecast weather for the last 7 days and lots of rain. Seeing 1 cfl isnt enough for all 5

At what point can 1 cfl compare to forecast sunlight?

Whats more better?

a little tip. If you have a window facing your backyard youll get more light from the open window then you would from your 50w cfl. Cowabungah!

Not to make light of yer situation,

"but its hard with no money"

Damn straight skippy err, tim1.

Damn hard to pull it off without da money.

3,686 posts on this here board and yer broke?

Scuse me, yer broke?

Howindahelldoesthathappen.

Lights.

More lights.

$=Lights=buddage

I've tried lots of ways of growing this here plant. But without proper lighting I have no ideas how to help.

Crap I hate to say it, but one lil ol 50 watter just aint agonna cut the mustard.

No way 50 gets ya the equivalent of outdoor ambient light.

C'mon, how much those 50's cost?

Back to the problem.

What problem? Oh yeah, the light dealio.

Even if it's raining put em outside. You'll get more of the good stuff to em.

The simple answer to this is i said its supposed to be a outside grow! But i had to bring em in because it was raining 7 days in a row. Seeing i havnt grown for a year i dont have any of my supplies cuz why would i need em if its a outside grow ;-)

They are being a bit mean to you here... I wish I had more information but I don`t think 1 CFL will cut it. How about buying fluorescent tubes, screwing them to a scrap piece of plywood or a cupboard door (lol) and covering the plywood with tinfoil? You need to check the money required for the ballast though which may be more... I saw loads of CFL`s at the pound shops like 6 for £1...

Borrow $20 for the CFL`s from a friend and promise him a quarter in the future! :)

On a side note though, getting stoned won`t provide you with cash in this material world... :)

Well you did not specify they were an outdoor grow.

Sheesh!

Leave em outside, screw the 50. You'll only stress them moving indoor and back outdoors.

I grew in dirt outside for thirty years and a lil' bit of rain never hurt one bit.

Don't freak over the lil things.

Ya think these girls gave a crap when it rained a lil bit on em?

Gimme a hundred acres and some good guard geese and a few dawgs.

Damn I love growing outdoors.

But for quality and cleanliness of smoke,

I gotta go inside.

And it seems to be working rather well.

Just harvested. Cleaned out the Flower Lab and in the process of a refit.

Raptors and Lumateks

Got seven to hang.

bb57

blowing minds one grow at a time..............

Thanks but I get crazy gram per watt ratio with the 1000 watters and the Raptors.

Heck even the veg lab has a couple of 1000 watters in it.

Now if you would like to pay my lectric bill that'd make me smile. j/k

never had a prob paying that monster.

bb57

lil shot of the veg Lab
Nice. Have you figured out the flood and drain or do you believe DWC is where its at?

I just copied and pasted the answer to you question from another site..

2,000 lumens per square foot, is about as low as you want to go. 2500 lumens per square foot, is considered adequate and 3000 lumens per square foot is considered optimal for the vegetative stage.

A good rule of thumb to calculate fluorescent lumens per watt is 85 lumens per watt. Some of the various types of fluorescent tubes put out more lumens than others. “Daylight” tubes put out about 6000 lumens, “cool white” put out 4000 lumens, “white” tubes put out about 3500 lumens and "warm" tubes put out 3000 lumens. There are also the colors of the spectrum that affect the plants. Blue is for the vegetative stage and red is for flowering.

Now this all sounds pretty good but it’s not much when you consider the power of Mother Nature. Sun light at the summer solstice, will generate in the area of 10,000 lumens per square foot.
I use a bank of flourescent tubes for my vegetative stage and a combo of MH and HPS lamps for flowering...If you know someone in the building trade ask them to find the flourescent tube light sockets and ballasts,. Often when public buildings are renovated or demolished these are thrown away..
