Light Setup Help!

I had intentions of buying a corded light socket for my upcoming grow, I have an old lamp that has two light sockets in it, one at the top of the lamp, and one that is spliced off of the main power cord to another socket on the side, both sockets have a ON/OFF switch, I took out all the sockets and wiring and need to know how to hook them back up for use in my upcoming grow. Can I use just the main power cord and its socket, or do I have to have the other one wired in for them to work? PICS INCLUDED!

yeah man, i'd need to see pics before i could guide you, ...here's a couple pics of something else you could do for very little money and wiring would be a snap.

cfls will probably work for vegetative growth, but you will need a HID lighting for flowering

hahaha, how many cfls did you run? you probably had 400W+ worth of cfls. you take the same plants put them under a 400w hps and you tell me. bozo

you missed the point grasshopper. ...you said he would NEED an HID to flower and that's just wrong, if you've never tried it maybe you shouldn't be telling the noobs it can't be done.

and i was running approx. 200watts per fixture each over it's own 7gallon DWC with 8 unvegged clones in each, ...i ran 4 of them so i pulled 1 DWC every 2 weeks and pulled an average of a quarter elbow per.

btw, at that time i was a noob myself and there wasn't room in my very tight budget to afford HID lighting, ...so i was forced to DO what those like you told me couldn't be done.

I too had some really good harvests with CFL'S. I'm now using a 400 watt HPS because I changed my set up and am using a tent.

Picture on the left shows the two sockets and there switches, the one with black and white is the extra that would normally be ran off the main cord and socket. The picture on the right shows the wiring laid out as best I could and am still just wanting to know that this can be rehooked up without the extra socket if it can I may just use the main socket only.

rather than take the chance i'd mis-explain, and in the interest's of your safety, and because i couldn't find anything here in my search for something equivalent, i share a link to a thread that is essential for you to read, in it you will learn to understand the basics of electricity and how it functions and you will quickly learn the basics, ...certainly to the degree that you'd be able to rewire a simple 110v lamp.

I grow with cfl's under both flowering and vegging. All I can say is, im happy with the result after drying and curing. And in my book, that is what counts :P I have 2 square meters wich i use 2x 125'w + 4x 23w

DUDE that looks unsafe teh wires insulation isnt 100% in all teh covered areas you should repalce teh wire it isnt much and compared to death it saves a lot tape and wire nuts are not great in humid places you could get to old cords and rewire them separate looks like it connects at teh sockets be safe and 110 60 Hz isnt a toy it stops hearts

i do like teh 4 socket unit with the splitters that should be enough for starting and then some
