is 250w HPS enough for three plants? or i should buy 400w?

400w HPS will do nicely for 3 big plants.
A 250w will do but not as well as a higher wattage lamp.
More light = more weed.

Best to invest in the gear you will be keeping for a long time now rather than keep spending money upgrading lights and fans etc.
