Lighting for single plant.

Hi, i have found a metal halide lamp on a site. Can I simply screw this into a bedside table lamp? This is the MH
Par 30 Metal Halide lamps and light bulbs - Osram - Sylvania - Philips - GE


There is also a HPS light, on the same site. Again it looks as though it can just be screwed in to a normal lamp. SON-E High Pressue Sodium Lamps - Osram - Sylvania - Philips - GE

Is this possible, or do I need to buy other equipment like a new lamp to hold and power the 400W bulb?

I only want one lamp as my University room is fairly small, which would be the most efficient? HPS of MH?

How much should I look to pay?
