Lighting question

I am starting my 3rd grow tonight, white goblin auto this time, although I named her Bettie Page. I grow in a small closet in my spare bedroom. I use 5 42 watt CFL 2700K. I started to wonder, it's beginning to be summer here and this room gets a good amount of sunlight. What do you think about still using the CFLs, but maybe leave the closet door open to get some natural light? Do you think by leaving the door open, it'll spread out the CFL light and actually deprive Bettie from light, or do you think it would be beneficial to her? Or maybe bringing her out from the closet when the room has good sun and give her a couple hours in the sun? I'm gonna run 20 hours of light and 4 off, do you think all of that 20 hours should come from the CFLs alone, or is it safe to mix it up a little? Thank you for reading this and I hope it makes sense, I'm not a very good explainer sometimes. Peace.

There would be no harm in leaving your closet doors open while the lights are on...
I am not saying there would be any great benefit, maybe some,
You know your window will be closed, and it would be greatly filtered sun light....
So... harm, no, but benefit, maybe, not much?
Good Luck...

One disadvantage of opening door is getting unwanted insect infestation, depending where you live. Spiders mite, white flies, etc. just a thought.

As to natural light, which side does this window face- north in summer is less intense than south. How much gets into the room?

Hours per day, early veg 20/4 as they develop I drop to 18/6 for 7-10 days, then 14/10 prior to flipping to 12/12

I have grown with cfls, they are not intense enough. I switched to LED globes but will be moving to 4ft LED tubes

Come by my thread to learn more
