lighting question

today i was looking at hps bulbs and it says that for most of the bulbs under 150w fit an e26 medium base and i was wondering does that mean you could pu one of these bulbs into a regular light socket

Stop!

You can NOT put a HPS bulb in a regular floor/desk lamp. HPS & MH have ballasts to make them work.

You can try it, just have a fire extinguisher handy.

lol, HPS ballasts really don't cost that much either, just go to HGT supply i think they have a sale right now
