so if i hang a 400 watt mh light in my closet, and its about 4 or 5 inches away from a wall, is that ok? if not this is the space i have to work with and i need a solution, the light is on its way. but i have a perty good exhaust system going.

Just make sure there are a few fans going all the time not just for the plant.

ya ive got two oscilating, and 2 connected on the tip of the exhaust, and in the midle blowing out of the room.

I once had a 250 HPS two inches away from a wall, and the glass was 3 inches away from the plant, had one exhaust and one fan and it was fine. that was a 16"x18"x4.5' area. Smaller lighting but I think the space was smaller than yours too.
