Brief summary:
At the moment, I am using 3 HID lights: 2x 1000W HPS, 1x 600W MH. The 2 HPSs are for my flowering tent (8ftx8ft), and the 600W MH is for outside the tent (small area, still the same room as the tent) for my Veggeing unit and cloner (in some distance).
The 2x 1000W are cooled hoods, directly ducted (sucked) from the tent through the window; for that I am using 8" Inline fan.
My initial plan was to run that ducting outside the tent, through the 600w and then outside — cool all three of them, basically. However, I came to realise that it takes shit loads of ducting, reducers, and it creates a lot of bends. Frankly, I ran out of funds as well.
So what I did was: I only ducted the 2x 1000W out (as alluded above) and put the 600W in an open hood, keeping one cooled hood as a spare.

Getting closer to the question:
To my annoyance the 600W gets seriously fucking hot! I am lucky that my flowering room is vacant, so my fan only draws the heat created by the 600W. I have realised that I need to ditch that fucker.
First of all, I don't need so much power for vegging and clonnig; it draws an unholy amount of electricity; it produces shit loads heat=problems.
I have absolutely no knowledge nor experience with other types of lighting. Only two come into my mind; fluorescent and LED.

The Question:
What kind of lighting do I need to cover my vegging unit and cloning unit. Both are, basically, Rubbermaid 27 gal boxes.
If I'll go fluoro, will something like a kitchen light (2x bars) do?
Ex.:
OR
If I'll go LED, will something like a back yard reflector do?
Ex.:
I have noticed when I see grows on the net done by Fluoro grower, they always use tons of bulbs. I have no idea how to to set that up. Is there no way just to have one or two lights?
It's just for vegging: the stay in the unit will not be longer than 3 weeks.
