Lights Too Far?

I'm vegging my plants. Started 18:6 about 4 days ago andi noticed heat stress so I raised my lights to about almost 6 feet. I have a good number of plants without crowding in there under a 1000hps. Some of my plants are a little over a foot long. Is the light too close? It used to be 24 inches above them

just pay attention to your plant and it's growth, you should notice things after every 2 days. soon you'll be able to understand it and just know what's up with it by instincts. it'll come to you, it's easy once you get experience

1000watt should be no closer than 24" to the top of the plants. if you have moved them to almost 6ft then you should be ok.
