halogen lights are the worst lights for growing , they emit heat and the plants only take in something like %5 of the light. they might seem like there growing when u just sprouted them but they will stop. and yeah in same cases stretching is bad your plant could learn over. stretching most likely is the plant reaching for the light so put the lights closer. get fluro's

READ BEFORE YOU WASTE PEOPLE'S TIME! Please take this with a grain of salt because I am not trying to insult you, this has nothing to do with you as a person, but even the most basic glance at weed guides posted on this forum tell you your answer at least twice.
The people with the best results on this site are people posting pictures of flowering bud on their 2nd post. Trollers who read absolutely everything and went with it, now they're doing great.
You on the other hand, will suck at growing until you put effort into it. Read first, then ask questions. Please the information that you have to scroll past to actually see this board. Posts like this needlessly clutter the forum and waste people's clicks. If you want smoke, read for 2 hours. Going through 1 edition of readers digest would take longer, and this is about MJ. Seriously.

keep those crappy halogens about half a foot away maybe , it depends on how much heat they put it , just put u finger infront of it , u want it as close as possible without burning the plant. but seriously get on those fluros asap , u want at least 20watt per plant for sprouts , 100watt light per mature plant. make sure there 6500k

Ok, I can appreciate that some of these type of posts can be frustrating, but I think you're going too far. Because someone asks a question they could have read up on, doesn't give you the license to be rude, and start name calling. This is, after all, an on-line forum - not a library. Have you heard the expression you can draw more flies with honey than you can with vinegar? Treating our new members with respect and guiding them in the right direction, will work 1000 times better than saying "you're an idiot, why didn't you read first?" Lastly - let me point out again, that no one forced you to "waste your click" opening this thread.

So umm where is it in this forum you find real growers using halogen lights?
Halogen lights are NOT for growing, complete waste of power and they throw out way too much heat. You can get seeds to germ and some sprouts sure (seeds will germ in 100% darkness, done it)
halogen doesnt produce usable light for plants, it's clear/yellow, vegging plants need blue light mostly which is 5000-7000 range.
After reading the whole thread and all Griz don;t resort to name calling Bud, especially if you want me to roll in as backup.
I dont do name calling or incurage it, I wanted to make that clear, but ALSO it is BS to tell someone to ignore a grower that has experience under him.
Halogen lights blow for growing, toss it and opt for CFLs, HPS, or MH

phenom long time no see!! i got about 20 grams off my lil plant, the whole grow lasted approx 80 days, kind of an express grow... buajaja... no seeds, no nothing... it was killer bud... i'm starting a new grow, using FF soil, nutes n shit, 5 plants in a portable wardrobe, CFL's, it's gonna be good... anyways, back to the topic...
don't worry about taking up bandwith or whatever, that's what the forum is for, to ask questions, to discuss to learn... even the most experienced growers keep learning new things on this site from newbies asking stuff, so ask away!!

BUT I do my best to try and read about my problem before asking not because of space or other plp but because by reading I might b able to take care of the problem/issue faster than waiting on a reply.

That being said he is a new user and may of not known where to look. Btw I didn't realize how much better mh is than hps for chloropyll production, good to know..

MH is just for veg, it doesn't beat a HPS, you wont get the good results trying to flower with a MH, if you do use MH for veg get a agro max bulb they have those 6500k MH bulbs, gonna get on myself when I switch my ballasts to digis after the first of the year, so Ill have 2x 1Kw MH lights and 2x 1Kw HPSs
