Little Help with Little Plant

ok so my friend sprouted a seed and instead of looking normal it is about 4 inches long now with 2 leafs about the size of tic tacs. the stem of it is as thick as a tooth pick and has been like this for 3 weeks.

Any help would be great and i hope that this makes at least a small amount of sense.

sounds like not enough light. what type of lighting are you using and how many watts?

well its my friends but im pretty sure hes just setting it n a window during the day time
